Today we did a family outing to Cherry Crest Adventure Farm. They have a lot of different adventures for the whole family. Their big attraction is the corn maze (see picture to the left). It covers 5 acres and has over 2 miles of paths in it. We got lost, and with having a three year old with a short attention span we wound up doing a little cheating but it was fun anyway.Being located in the heart of Amish Country they had an attraction call Make a Friend Workshop where you make an Amish rag doll and learn about an Amish child's life. Kaitlyn got to pick the doll and dress (did you know that Amish children can wear dresses that are light pink, purple, blue, gray, and the dark colors commonly seen on Amish people, it is only when they are older that they have to wear just the dark colors). After picking the clothes she chose the name, Barbie (yes, it is an actual Amish name, it surprised me to). Then on to learning what they do at school and how to tie a quilting knot.
After the trip through the maize we went on to the Barnyard where they had a long slide, jumping pillows, and hay jumping (that turned in to hay throwing for Kaitlyn). With all of us being tired from the fun filled day we headed home.
