Because Nice Matters: Christmas in Vermont.

We just got back from our trip up to my parent's house in Vermont for Christmas. We had a lot of fun, aside from mother nature delaying our departure for a day, and our washer fluid freezing up a quarter of the way in to the trip (when going to an area with snow anyone knows how critical it is to have washer fluid. Needles to say we made several stops to clean the windshield). We made the trip in between snow storms and the funny thing is as soon as we got in to Vermont the road were not the greatest, but we eventually made it and before the next storm that dumped a foot of snow. The weather was very interesting this visit from getting a foot of snow on Sunday to wind blowing so hard on Christmas eve that I could have sworn that a tornado was coming down the street to warm and Rainy when we left.
Kaitlyn had a blast in the snow. With this being her first real snow fall since she was born, she was excited to see all the snow. It was fun watching her walk through snow that was up over her knees. I was also very proud of her when she went sledding down the big hill at my old elementary school. Having grown up in Vermont it felt good to be around deep snow and made me long for a good snow storm down here in Pennsylvania this winter (sorry everyone in PA who hates snow). It is like one of my friends said "You can take the girl out of Vermont but not the Vermont out of the girl".
Christmas morning was the best. This being Kaitlyn's first year that she understands what happens Christmas morning waking up to saying "Santa Clause was here!!!" was priceless. Xavier, my Nephew who just turned three, went along and fed off of Kaitlyn's excitement. It was nice to see all of my family and a fun visit all around. Kaitlyn wasn't the only one enjoying the snow. When my dad put Fenway out she spent an hour and a half outside. We would go out to get her but she would look at us as if to say "yes, I am here what do you want?"
